Understanding Western Desert Egypt Weather
The first thing to understand is that desert weather is about temperature range, not simply maximum daytime temperature.
You may leave your vehicle in warm sunshine wearing a light shirt.
Several hours after sunset, you may want a jacket, fleece or additional layer.
The dry environment allows temperatures to fall noticeably after dark.
That is why packing for a Western Desert trip is different from packing for a conventional beach holiday.
